Pioneer DJ begins the production of the DDJ-SX2, the world's first controller that allows working with the new plugin for the popular Serato software. The four-channel DDJ-SX2 continues the development of its popular predecessor but also includes some features from the DDJ-SZ: pads with color indicators and jog display point markers. The controller is ready to work with the most advanced versions of the software.
Serato Flip is a paid add-on plugin for Serato DJ, allowing the recording and playback of hot cue sequences. Currently, the DDJ-SX2 is the only controller with buttons necessary for this plugin: record, start, and slot. DDJ-SX2 owners will be able to install Serato Flip for free, as a special voucher will be included with the controller.
Serato Flip controls
Serato Flip will allow DJs to record hot cue combinations and play them back in sequence. Six slots will allow saving six cue combinations. Three buttons will help fully manage the process: record, start/stop, and slot (memory bank).
Pads with color indicators
DJs can activate quantized hot cues, roll, slicer, and sampler, or, by holding Shift, save and activate Cue and Slicer Loop. The Velocity mode will help manage sample volume by the force of pressing, and the pads' color indication will easily identify their operating mode or match the pads to the hot cues.
Improved jog with point markers
The DDJ-SX2 features an enhanced jog with low latency. Its display shows playback status and indicates the location of the hot cues.
Capability to work with the latest versions of Serato DJ
The DDJ-SX2 has four inputs for connecting additional players or turntables to the four-channel independent mixer. Users can install Serato plugins and control the software using players or turntables with timecode. Two master outputs (XLR and RCA), as well as a booth output, allow connecting the controller to a professional sound system. Additionally, the limiters for the two microphone inputs have been improved.
